Updating My Project Plan

As with most of my projects, things are bound to change from what I had originally intended within the start of the project and the deadline. When a time limit and other stakeholders are involved, plans are bound to change to still reach the overall end goal in the amount of time we have.

Lets discuss some of the changes that have already occurred in my current project, and how I've updated my project plan to suit the new changes.

So, the VERY FIRST plan was to initially have a local artist or band sing over a track that I had already created. While that still holds true, finding the artist on my own didn't really work due to the lack of response I had received back from the ones I had contacted. I asked a classmate, Zac, if he would know anybody and he offered to just do the vocals himself. I agreed with this plan, as I could still get a learning experience with an experienced vocalist, where I can then improve on my vocal processing and mixing techniques (rather than being let down by a potentially bad musician).

Another change to the project plan that is rather significant is the dates in which I planned to have certain tasks done by. As Zac was recording for his own project at the time and had 2 weeks where he was travelling, milestones for recording needed to change. That being said, recording the track in time was not a problem at all, it just wasn't completed by the week I had initially set out for it. The acoustic elements, being the vocals and guitar riff, did not take nearly as long to write as we had intended, so this was also moved in the project milestones section of the plan. The name of the project was changed to incorporate the title of the song, which was named "DODGE", which was thought of after writing the lyrics. I also have included the emergency contact phone numbers of both myself and Zac on the plan.

The final change to my plan was the addition of the original reference track that I had in mind, and the new reference track. The track didn't turn out as much as the original reference, but I had thought of another song which shares a lot of similarities to the track that I have created.

I had originally intended on the reference track for the project to sound like "Miami Horror - Sometimes", however I found it sounded more like the song "Busted - On What You're On". I felt this was a better option to reference my mix against, instead of the original.

Though somewhat small, these are some of the changes that I've made to my project plan.

I'll update you on whats happening next soon,

Thanks for reading!
